This remarkable project, poised to feature on Dream Homes Revealed on Channel 9, represents a seamless blend of contemporary luxury and functional elegance. Our clients, known for their refined taste and appreciation for timeless design, tasked us with transforming their bold early 2000s property into a sophisticated and welcoming space that would cater to their large extended family. The three-level home, originally characterised by a block façade and extensive marble flooring, was reimagined to enhance usability, comfort, and aesthetic appeal.

Strategic Interior Transformations

The reconfiguration of space was essential to achieve a home that balanced grandeur with everyday functionality. A standout feature of the transformation was the flooring. We selected the gorgeous timber floor from Woodcut in the Hazel colour and laid it in an elegant herringbone pattern throughout the ground floor extension and the upstairs bedroom level. This choice of flooring softened the impact of the existing marble and introduced warmth and texture, creating a cohesive and inviting atmosphere.

One of the key structural changes included converting one of the bedrooms into a luxurious “her walk-in robe” outfitted with custom glass cabinetry doors, integrated lighting, and ample storage solutions. This transformed space exudes sophistication while offering practical utility. The remaining part of this bedroom was redesigned into a new laundry room on the main bedroom level, providing greater convenience for the family compared to the original ground-floor laundry.

Enhanced Functionality and Personalised Spaces

The former ground-level laundry was reimagined as a butler’s pantry, enriching the kitchen’s functionality and catering to the client’s love for entertaining. To create customised, personal spaces for the clients’ daughters, we transformed the existing rumpus room into a walk-in robe and ensuite for one daughter, while the downstairs guest room was converted into a galley-style walk-in robe with the original robe remodelled into an ensuite for the other daughter.

Lower-Level Cinema Room Transformation

The lower level of the property was another focal point of our redesign. Initially occupied by a pool that did not align with the client’s lifestyle, we filled in the space and transformed it into a snug cinema room perfect for family movie nights. This new entertainment hub features a sleek TV wall, discreet storage hidden behind wainscoting, a built-in bar for refreshments, and a renovated bathroom to complete the area’s functionality and luxury.

Details and Finishes

Throughout the home, we applied a consistent approach of timeless elegance with modern enhancements. We added detailed wall panelling that introduced a touch of classic sophistication and texture. In the bathrooms, Signorino statement marble and Astra Walker tapware were chosen for their luxurious and enduring appeal. The stone selections ranged from bold, moody marbles to softer, milky-white Carrara marble, striking a perfect balance between drama and tranquillity.

Outcome

The transformation resulted in a beautifully balanced home that combines classic charm, functional design, and modern luxury. By repurposing underused areas and incorporating high-quality finishes like the Woodcut Hazel herringbone timber floor, we achieved the client’s vision for a warm, timeless, and inviting space. This project not only met the family’s needs but also created a stunning residence that will be enjoyed for years to come—and soon admired by viewers of Dream Homes Revealed.
