In the heart of New Farm, overlooking the iconic Story Bridge, we undertook an exceptional interior design project known as "Santorini Serenity." Our clients approached us with a clear vision – they yearned for a penthouse that radiated serenity and tranquillity, taking inspiration from the pristine beauty of Santorini. The penthouse's previous state was a stark contrast, with a mishmash of animal wallpaper, dark timber, antique mirrors, and green tiles that created a chaotic atmosphere. Our challenge was to breathe new life into the space, creating an atmosphere that was both light and airy, while adhering to the clients' preference for a palette of white, neutrals, and a plethora of captivating textures.
 
Our design concept centred around capturing the essence of Santorini – a place synonymous with calm, soothing hues and a simplicity that soothes the soul. We anchored our design in white and neutral tones, using them as the backdrop for a selection of textures that would add depth and character to the penthouse. The goal was to transform the space into a luxurious sanctuary that seamlessly blended the pristine simplicity of Santorini with modern sophistication.
 
The transformation journey commenced with the removal of existing animal wallpapers and dark timbers, making way for serene and neutral wallpapers that harmonised with the Santorini aesthetic. Throughout the penthouse, a fresh coat of light, airy paint further enhanced the inviting atmosphere. The kitchen underwent a comprehensive renovation, featuring updated cabinetry and the conversion of part of the powder room into a spacious pantry, catering to the client's love for entertaining. Lighting fixtures were strategically updated to create a cohesive ambiance, while window dressings allowed abundant natural light to filter through, maintaining the bright and serene atmosphere.

The jewel in the crown was undoubtedly the roof-top pool area, where a complete revamp involved replacing old tiles with exquisite Italian Lapitec tiles. This transformation turned the rooftop into a Santorini-inspired oasis, offering a serene and visually stunning space for relaxation and entertainment. Existing furniture pieces were artfully reupholstered and incorporated into the design, while carefully selected Italian designer pieces, including the show-stopping Edra Sofa and Rose Chairs in the Formal Living area, added a touch of opulence. The client's cherished art pieces were prominently featured, with specialised lighting strategically highlighting their beauty.
 
The "Santorini Serenity" project successfully realised the clients' vision for a light and bright interior, effectively turning the penthouse into a haven of calm. The Santorini-inspired aesthetic, with its white and neutral palette, textured elements, and elegant furnishings, beautifully encapsulated the essence of the Greek island. Today, the penthouse exudes serenity and sophistication, providing a respite from the hustle and bustle of the city below.
